For the week of May 31, 2026
“Amazing Grace” – Week 7
- For Further Study:
- Isaiah 49:13-18
- Isaiah 1:21-26
- Isaiah 30:15-22
- Isaiah 62:1-5
- For Further Prayer:
- Ask God to help you see yourself as He sees You. Ask God to give you eyes to see how much He delights in you and rejoices over you. Ask God to help you see others the way that He sees them as well.
- Pray that God would not only help you receive His grace, but also to show His grace to others. Pray that You would be filled with His Holy Spirit and carry His grace everywhere you go today.
- For Further Discussion/Reflection:
- Why do you think some people avoid making permanent decisions (marriage, kids, tattoos, etc)? Have you ever felt hesitant to do something that felt a little too permanent? How do you feel about the idea that God writes your name on His hands and wants a permanent/everlasting relationship with you?
- If you were talking with someone and they asked “Why would a perfect God love someone as imperfect as me?”, what would you say to them?
- At certain points in the Bible, God compares His unfaithful people to an unfaithful spouse (for example, Isaiah 1). Yet, at other points, God talks about His people as being a beautiful bride He delights in and rejoices over (for example, Isaiah 62). How can both of these pictures work together to help us see His grace in our lives?
- Jonah did not want the Ninevites to experience God’s grace. Jonah wanted God to give him grace, but he didn’t want God to give his enemies grace. Are there any people who you’d like to see denied grace? What is a way that you can show the amazing grace of God that you have received to someone who doesn’t deserve it this week?
- “Now What?” Next Step:
- Read through the book of Jonah in the Bible (the entire book is only four chapters).
- You can read it alone, with your spouse/significant other, with your kids, or with a friend.
- Try to read it all in one sitting if possible, so that you can see the entire picture at once.
- While you are reading, look for grace. If you are reading with someone else, have everyone make note of everything that happens in the story that reminds them of God’s amazing grace. Then, at the end, discuss what jumped out to you.
